JANUARY 2019 BLOG INCOME REPORT

 

 

The first income report of the new year. *dun dun dunnnnn*

As expected, my monthly blogging income from January suffered a major drop.

 

Even after ignoring my blog for more than half the month and going on a 10 day vacation…

I still made $501.91 BLOGGING PART TIME!

 

Yes to passive income.

 

 

I hope my blogging income reports will encourage you to consider pursuing blogging as a side hustle. Be warned, it’s not a get rich quick scheme by any means. It takes a lot of time, work, dedication, and continued learning.

January 2019 BLOGGING STATS

 

Traffic: 52,718 33,815 pageviews

 

My best things to buy after Christmas post continued to bring in most of my month’s traffic. Not publishing new content or creating new pins obviously affected my traffic.

 

I was still in holiday recovery/get ready for vacation mode, when a coworker who was near and dear to my heart suddenly passed away. At that point I purposely chose to turn everything “off” until after vacation and getting back to work.

My traffic fizzled out these past 2 weeks and only because I filled my Tailwind queue did I have some sort of traffic.

 

SOCIAL MEDIA

 

PINTEREST:  2,424 2,924 followers

 

FACEBOOK: 557 557 followers

 

INSTAGRAM: 504 503 followers

 

TWITTER: 1,022 1,022 followers

 

 

My Pinterest following continues to climb, but I take that number with a grain of salt.

As I mentioned in my record high December blog income report, advertising rates tend to be their lowest at the beginning of the year.

eBates: $100 (My income doubled from last month thanks to the tips in this course).

Intellifluence: $0

I’ve done more product reviews and although they were unpaid, the product itself was worth it to me. Currently finishing up my review for an air fryer (valued at approx. $100), which my husband has wanted. We are loving it so much. Fried food without all the grease, yes please.

Linqia (new blogger sponsorship opportunities, average payout $220): $0

Affiliate marketing for bloggers: $0

Pinteresting Strategies: $35.60

 

 

Amazon Associates: $23.88

 

It’s still not much, but my Amazon affiliate income has continued to increase.

Dare to Conquer (DTC, formerly BBC)

 

Scrivs, the chill, super successful blogger behind DTC runs multiple blogs that make several thousand dollars a month.

 

His course is different than any other courses I have seen. For one price you get access to every course, Pinterest guide, SEO, affiliate marketing, video, sales funnel, community, etc.

 

He constantly updates the courses and just recently came out with $1,000+ a month with ads. As a blogger struggling to make even $100 this would be a great resource.

TAILWIND

 

I use Tailwind to look at my stats and Tailwind tribes has helped me get over 1,000 page views a day.

 

I probably spend less than 10 minutes a day on Pinterest. I’ve been filling my queue up and when I go on vacation I don’t plan on checking Pinterest at all.

 

You don’t need to have Tailwind to get a ton of traffic, but the time it saves me has been used to create new content and pins so I find it to be well worth the money.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 

My Pinterest group board Money Tips and Tricks continues to grow and I get contributor requests almost on a daily basis. I’m thinking about when would be a good time to close it

 

Lena Gott writes over at WhatMommyDoes. She and Stephanie of SpaceshipsAndLaserbeams had done a Facebook live and gave a ton of great advice about qualifying for Mediavine. It was their tips that helped me get the traffic boost I needed. Well, Lena just followed my Pinterest group board so that made me geek out a little bit.

 

 

CONCLUSION

 

Despite not doing much with my blog I still made some sort of income every day.

Traffic for February is looking how I would expect it to look when doing absolutely nothing. The day we returned from vacation my mom was sick and in the hospital for 2 days. Thankfully she’s all better.

 

I am going to make some new pins and pump out some content that will hopefully give some life back into my numbers.

 

 

FINAL THOUGHTS

 

Blogging has become a big part of my life.

 

The time I spent on vacation with the kids and my husband was overall relaxing and worth all the money in the world, however our vacation did set us back a bit as far as our budget so back to the grind.

 

Now that I have cleaned most of our house and spent time reorganizing and doing everything non-blogging related I am ready to dive back into blogger mode.
