And just like that we go into the last quarter of the year!

I’m not even going to pretend I’ve been working hours on end blogging because I haven’t.

We went on vacation, flew to New Orleans then took a cruise to Key West and the Bahamas.

Now it’s back to reality.

I hope my blogging income reports will encourage you to consider pursuing blogging as a side hustle. Be warned, it’s not a get rich quick scheme by any means. It takes a lot of time, work, dedication, and continued learning.

If you’re a blogger who has been blogging for awhile and NOT seeing results I urge you to keep on going.

August 2019 BLOGGING STATS

Traffic: 33,806 28,544 pageviews

My page views took a big plunge while on vacation and it’s continuing on a downward trend. I’m not sure if it’s because people are getting ready for back to school, because they’re on vacation, or Pinterest is acting crazy.

My organic traffic is consistent thanks to taking Stupid Simple SEO.

Referrals/Affiliate Income

Rakuten (foremerly eBates): $25

Ebates Coupons and Cash Back

Rakuten is one of my favorite affiliate programs because it saves people money, making it an easy recommendation and they pay $25 per referral.

Groupon: $0

iBotta: $5

Intellifluence: $0

Linqia (new blogger sponsorship opportunities, average payout $220): $0

Affiliate marketing for bloggers: $0

Pinteresting Strategies: $54.40

Amazon Associates: $13.45

Amazon is a great affiliate program because they are known and you can link to also any product, however their payout is a lot lower than other networks out there.

I am working on creating a list of higher paying affiliate networks to join and add to my posts that fit my audience and niche.

Blogging Resources

These resources are the ones that helped me hit over 25k sessions so that I could qualify and join Mediavine and finally start making some money blogging (I’ve come a long way from making just $20 a month).

Carly Campbell’s Pinteresting Strategies Course

Carly’s course is based on manual pinning. She gets over 200,000 page views a month and offers invaluable (free) tips in her Facebook group.

Her course is the most affordable Pinterest course out there and she is not a “blog about blogging” blogger. She focuses mainly on motherhood and that is what makes her course so unique because her tips work for all niches.

Read my >>full review on Carly’s course and you can also get a promo code if interested<<

Dare to Conquer (formerly Billionaire Blog Club)

Scriv’s Dare to Conquer membership course is different than any other courses I have seen or taken. For one price you get access to every course, Pinterest guide, SEO, affiliate marketing, video, sales funnel, community, etc.

He is super active via email and through Slack (the chat group). He is constantly adding new courses/roadmaps to ensure his students succeed that it’s hard to keep up.

Stupid Simple SEO

what is stupid simple seo

I’ve only had Mike’s SSSEO course for 4 months and I can wholeheartedly say I recommend it to any blogger looking to succeed. It is one of the most in-depth blogging courses I’ve taken and the biggest plus, YOU GET RESULTS! I now rank on page 1 for several of my posts thanks to what Mike teaches.

Read my full Stupid Simple SEO course review to see some of my results, the pros and cons of the course, and what other’s are saying about it.

Sign-up to the FREE 5 day bootcamp to get SEO tips, join Mike’s mailing list and see what it’s about.

TAILWIND

I use Tailwind to look at my stats and Tailwind tribes was what helped me get over 1,000 page views a day.   You don’t need to have Tailwind to get a ton of traffic, but the time it saves me has been used to create new content and pins so I find it to be well worth the money.

Try Tailwind for free (no payment information needed). Get 100 free pins and free access to up to 5 tribes using this link.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

I was featured on a few more high domain authority sites that I didn’t even know about until I did a quick Google search. Mike SEO course has proved more than helpful and I hope to see my DA grow even more before the end of the year.

My affiliate income was higher this month and a little win is better than no win. Now that we are in the fourth quarter it’s time to focus on holiday content.

FINAL THOUGHTS

My money saving printables are still being made and taking a little longer than anticipated. I hope to get a few out to my mailing list this month.

BIG NEWS: While on vacation I was talking to my husband about FinCon, a big conference of financial bloggers, podcasters, brands, and money nerds.

A few bloggers I’ve come to know and Ramit Sethi are going to be in attendance and I had wanted to go, but figured we didn’t have the extra cash or babysitting power. My husband pushed me to go and even requested off from work so I’m going!!

I’m totally geeking out and can’t wait to network and make new friends. Though the introvert in me is terrified. Wish me luck!

If you don’t have your own blog yet, read this post to see what you need to do to set up your blog.   If you have been blogging, keep up the great work and know it only gets easier.
