April 2019 BLOG INCOME REPORT
April’s traffic increased very slightly from the previous month, however my blog income DOUBLED!
I continued to publish new posts each week, sometimes two. I am gradually improving my old posts to improve SEO and redo some hideous old pins.

It hasn’t been easy and a few times I’ve wanted to throw in the towel. If you’re a blogger I know you can relate 😉
I hope my blogging income reports will encourage you to consider pursuing blogging as a side hustle. Be warned, it’s not a get rich quick scheme by any means. It takes a lot of time, work, dedication, and continued learning.
Want to make some extra money on the side? Here are 7 important steps to get your own blog started.
If you’re a blogger who has been blogging for awhile and NOT seeing results I urge you to keep on going.

Ebates is one of my favorite affiliate programs because it saves people money, making it an easy recommendation. Read my full Ebates/Rakuten review to see what it’s about.

Blogging Resources
These resources are the ones that helped me hit over 25k sessions to join Mediavine and finally start making some money blogging.

Dare to Conquer (DTC, formerly BBC)
Scrivs, the chill, super successful blogger behind DTC runs multiple blogs that make several thousand dollars a month.
His course is different than any other courses I have seen. For one price you get access to every course, Pinterest guide, SEO, affiliate marketing, video, sales funnel, community, etc.
I’m all about free. If you’re not sure if DTC is for you, just work through Scriv’s free 12 day blogging boot camp course. Tons of great sh*t you haven’t read before.
TAILWIND
I use Tailwind to look at my stats and Tailwind tribes was what helped me get over 1,000 page views a day.
You don’t need to have Tailwind to get a ton of traffic, but the time it saves me has been used to create new content and pins so I find it to be well worth the money.
Currently leaving low performing Pinterest group boards.
Try Tailwind for free (no payment information needed). Get 100 free pins and free access to up to 5 tribes using this link.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
I did fairly well in April since it is considered one of the slowest months in the blogging world.
I didn’t quit.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I started creating some freebies and plan on offering them in a resource library.
I now need to create some email sign up boxes.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed blogging and try and figure out what tasks to focus on. In truth you should really focus on the ones that will bring you money, but I can’t help myself. I love giving away free stuff that I think is helpful.
I have been going back and forth with continuing to write my blogging reports.
On the one hand I love encouraging new bloggers to keep going. I went from pennies a month to now several hundred a month with hard work and determination.
On the other hand I feel these numbers aren’t telling the full story. It doesn’t take into account my expenses, time, blood, sweat, and tears.
I’ll see how things go this month. If I have any revelations or great tips to share I might have to revamp my format.
Cheers!
